showering everyday

Question

I noticed on a post about Shavouah Shel Chalbo that we can shower all week except for Tsha Baav. You also wrote "Please shower every day at least once. Otherwise, it is a sin" Believe it or not, there is a friend of mine that only showers once he feels he smells. What transgression is he infracting when he skips a shower every other day?
