showering on Yom Tov

Question

Back in 2002 some answers (showering on yomtov by jay on 10/18/2002 5:43:00 PM) about showering on Yom Tov indicated that lathering with shampoo was a problem. However, in 2006 an answer (showers on yom tov by jeff on 4/10/2006 11:55:00 PM) said that shampoo can be used in the normal way. Would you please clarify the difference that I missed? Thank you.

My father changed his P'sak, to allow even lathering the soap in hair. CYA
