Shushi
Question
Can sushi/sashimi/rolls be eaten in a shushi bar that is not under Hashgacha if you request only the products with kosher fish (salmon, tuna, etc.)? Also, what about using their wasabi, ginger, and soy sauce? Thank you.
Answer
Answered by Aaron AbadiIt's a bit complicated, because they often use the same surface with pieces of all the other fishes that are not Kosher. If they were to start a new tuna or salmon fillet, or use a clean knife and cut of or clean of the outside layer, and then give you your Sashimi, it would be OK. But the rice is a problem, if cooked by a non-Jew. The Wasabi, ginger, soy sauce, and seaweed are all fine. AA
