Silk Screen; The Chazon Ish's opinion
Question
People ask, "what did the Chazon Ish hold about silk screen?" They figure that he must have been against printing and probably also silk screening. Then they figure that my father wouldn't go against the Chazon Ish. They are certain that he'll stick to the Chazon Ish's opinion. ....and this time, they're 100% right! If you look at the Chazon Ish you will see that my father follows him and shares the Chazon Ish's outlook and Halachic determinations on this issue. In Yoreh Deah #167:10 the Chazon Ish expresses very clearly that the only problem with printing is that it is by machine and not done by hand. If it were done by hand, it would be like writing. Not only would he approve of silk screen, but he even allows printing, if done by hand, and not by machine, since you need the Koach (physical involvement) of a person. We have shown that tens of our major Rabbanim of the highest stature, from the Rama Mepano, to the Magen Avraham, to the Ta"z, to the Aruch Hashulchan, and now the Chazon Ish, and so many others all hold that silk screen is 100% Kosher. Additionally, those that were opposed to printing would agree that silk screen is OK, since there is no Chakikah. The opposing organization consisting of Mishmeret STA"M and whomever they enlisted into their Mafia-attempts to control the Safrut industry, could not show any opinion to back themselves up from an Halachic standpoint. The only proof shown was a misunderstanding of a very clear and simple Yerushalmi, that says Vekatav Velo Hashofech (written and not poured). The Yerushalmi itself explains it to mean a case of a document or letter written with an invisible ink used in important secret messages, that when the letter reaches its destination, the person pours a chemical on the seemingly blank page and out comes a page full of words and letters. This is not writing. That is the Yerushalmi itself's explanation to the words "Vekatav Velo Hashofech." Even Rav Ovadia Yosef , upon seeing the true silk screen process, agreed that it is 100% Kosher, and gave my father many blessings in front of many people that he should succeed in his endeavors in the silk screen project. You can only imagine his anger for being misled by the "Shualim Ketanim Mechablim Keramim." (small foxes that destroy the vineyards) ...and then to see letters by so-called Rabbanim saying the most horrible things. Of course they say that, because they have no sources to back them. So they'll curse and yell. Hey! Don't forget that there is still a God out there, and we will all be in court one day.... Now, suddenly, even the letters from Rav Elyashiv cannot be trusted. We all learned some valuable lessons about the validity of these type letters in the last few weeks. People wrote and posted statements like, "Choteh UMachtie Et Harabim." Interesting! Malkiel Kotler? David Schustel? Shmuel Felder? Shmuel Meir Katz? and what do I see here? Yerucham Olshin??? Unbelievable! SHAME ON YOU! This is how you talk about your Rebbi, your Rav and Posek? Have you lost all your integrity? Have you thrown caution to the wind? Do you not expect to be in Beit Din Shel Ma'alah sooner or later? Are you above the law? It says HaCholek Al Raboh, Kecholek Al Hashechinah? I don't want to be anywhere near those people when God runs out of patience. Why do I write this? Not because I'm bitter. Not because I like insulting people. I write this to warn each and every Jew. It says that if anyone is quiet when they see a wrong being done, they will be responsible as an accessory to the crime itself. I am giving you an opportunity to speak out, to open your mouth and shout from the rooftops. Do not allow these people to turn you into little mice. You go to your Shul Rav, go to everyone you know and be Mocheh, protest. Tell them that you are very disturbed by the attempts to monopolize Judaism. Disturbed by the fakers who have no fear to go up against their own Rebbis. Don't donate money to their Yeshivot, don't invite them to your Simchot, and don't even say hello to them. If you do, you are condoning their actions. We all have laws to follow. These are our laws that God gave us in his Torah and Shulchan Aruch. Look up the Gemara in Shabbat 55a and you will learn why God had to start the punishments of the destruction of our Temple by punishing and destroying the ones that were Tzaddikim first. They were quiet. They didn't stop anyone. Look it up and then act! The GR"A says that these type of Baalei Machloket are Amalek (Even Shelema 11:8). He says that Moshiach cannot come until we destroy these Amalekim. Go out there and destroy Amalek completely. Don't forget, King Shaul lost his kingdom because he didn't 100% complete the job. Hashem should and will reward us with the coming of Moshiach ASAP. AA
