spices and rice

Question

does white or brown rice need to be sorted (picked thru) before pesach? also, in previous years lundberg brown rice has been ok. we used to call the company and they told us there is no wheat grown anywhere near their rice fields or in their factory. is it ok? are all brand spices kosher for passover or only the ones in the passover department? thank you and hag sameach.
