Splash guard

Question

Gut Moed Rabbi, I recently bought a splash guard for a frying pan to keep the oil from splattering onto me and the stovetop. Do I need to tovel it? It isn't used directly on the food, though oil splashes up onto it and then falls back down. Also, if oil (say exposed to chicken) splatters and droplets fall onto the outsides of dishes that aren't being used, do they (if they are milchig) need to be kashered? Thanks Marc
