Sponges Follow-Up
Question
Now I'm confused...are you saying that as long as we are not squeezing a sponge to use the liquid that gets squeezed out that we are allowed to wring them out? Does that mean we can use normal sponges to wash dishes on shabbat, or mop a floor as long as we are not reusing the water that comes out?
Answer
Answered by Aaron AbadiIf you use the sponge to wash dishes, I assume you want the squueezed out water and soap to go onto the dish. When you soak up a spill, on the other hand, and then you squeeze it out into the sink and go back for another load, you don't want that water for anything.
