Question

I was in La Guardia and there is a restaurant that sells cakes, and sandwhiches, some of which are meat. The restaurant also sells freshly squeezed orange juice. They don't juice the oranges right in front of you, rather, they have the juice prepared in cups, ready to go. Is there any reason why this orange juice is asur to drink? I didn't buy it cause I was concerned that the keilim of the meat were perhaps used or washed with keilim used to make the juices, and I was unsure whether this was problematic. Thanks If the answer is that it is not a problem, is the reason center around b/c of the fact that the taste of the meat is not absorbed in other keilim etc. Thanx

In the days of the Gemara they bought juice like that. It's OK, because it is cold, because it would be Noten Taam Lifgam (gives a bad flavor), because it would be absurd for him to put the juice in a place that would give it a meat flavor, because you don't taste any meat when you drink the juice, and a few more reasons. Each reason is sufficient to make it kosher in it's own right. The Rambam says that we will be held accountable for anything that we were allowed to have, but restricted ourselves unnecessarily. Next time, get the juice! AA
