Stove
Question
I looked at a number of posts dealing with stove and Yom Tov and I am still confused. If I turn off the electric starter, can I turn the gas stove on and off as much as I want. Obviously, I would light the stove with an already lit yahrzeit candle.) I don't want to leave the stove on all of Yom Tov (especially after the recent tragedies).
Answer
Answered by Chaim Yisrael AbadiYou don't have to turn it off. Just either bypass it when you turn the knob or don't go to the end where the starter is (depending on which type of stove you have). Then just light it with the candle CYA
