Sukkah

Question

I build a sukkah over three existing walls (which you said was ok) by stringing plastic coated wire across the top and resting the schach directly on top of the wire. Is that ok because someone told me that the scach has to be resting on something the grew from the ground. Is my sukkah kosher?
