taking shabbat early

Question

When taking Shabbat early, is it neccessary to wait until plag hamoinchah (this time of year about 6:45) or may one start earlier (Aruch HaShulchan and others)?

Wait till Plag Hamincha to be mekabel Shabbat. CYA
