Question

Wait a second. Everyone can't be repeating the midrash of their rebbi. At some point, someone must have given a peshat in Chumash or Nach! How were they authorized to do so? Also, many mefarshim seem to develop their own ideas, such as Radak and Ibn Ezra. What's the deal with them?

No one makes things up. That's out of the question. Everything comes from the previous Sefarim, Gemaras, or any other source. We cannot make up explanations and learnings from the Torah. Look at the GRA in Even Shelema. AA
