Tearing

Question

Is there a problem opening glass bottles on shabbas/yom tov? (such as perrier). And how about plastic ones? Good yom tov, dave

No problem. And you can open cans, plastic bags, tissue boxes. AA So how do we know when we are allowed to tear and when we are not allowed?
