Techumin
Question
Techumin is the annual published by Machon Tzomet (the place that tries to find halakhic solutions for technological issues). It is probably the most important of the halakhic annuals of this sort. All the gedolim publish in it, from both the religous Zionist and Haredi world. It can be foiund in every seforim store -- they are at vol. 23 I think. What is unique about the annual is that ALL segments of the Torah world publish there, and there is no ideological censorship (and obviously no personal attacks like in Or Yisrael). They are not afraid to publish cutting edge material. A friend told me that the director of technology spoke to Rabbi Abadi about his view of showers on Shabbat and turning down the themostat, and that this is exactly the sort of material they would like to publish, and that it would be great if Rabbi Abadi would send some material. (They also published a number of teshuvot concerning a new way of writing the sefer Torah (NOT the silk screen approach) The other day I saw that Bigeleisen has, not only the latest volume, but a CD Rom containing all of the volumes up to date. But in addition to Techumin there are other journals and annuals. It would be a great benefit to the Torah world if Rabbi Abadi could also publish in them, thus spreading his learning.
