the great vinegar debate

Question

Regarding foods that list vinegar as an ingredient AA says, “If vinegar is the only issue, and it just says "vinegar," then it is OK. FDA requires vinegar listed alone to be from apples.” (6570), while CYA says, “Store brand products with vinegar cannot be verified and so they are not good.” (6854). Please help, it looks like contradictory views. What is the final verdict with foods that list vinegar as an ingredient? Thanks

I resolved it with CYA. He was not aware of the FDA policy. Now he is. AA
