toaster oven

Question

BACKGROUND: i had a toaster designated as dairy, so care was not taken to clean it out all that often. simply put, there definitely were crumbs in the toaster. recently, someone mistakenly heated a meat sandwich in the toaster QUESTION: is the toaster treif? if so, can it be kashered or must i throw it out? thanks in advance, rabbi.

The only real issue is the tray itself. Leave it in the toaster-oven on the highest for 30 minutes & it is Kashered. Unless you mean a regular toaster, but I can't imagine putting a sandwich in one of those..... AA
