Tombstone

B'chvod haRav, What is proper to put on a tombstone? Is it important that it only be in Hebrew, as I remember learning in the Pele Yo'etz, or can it be English as well? Thank you, Sam

There is no issur to write in English, but some previous Rabbis are stringent, so why be lenient. CYA
