Question

Even if the Indonesians were our friends, isn't the only heter to give tzedakah mishum eivah? I can't see any eivah that would come about here?Thanks.

Friends who help you or who you have a connection to are OK to give them anything and everything. It's not Tzedakah necessarily, it's friendship, loyalty, and a two-way street. ("lo Techanem" is exclusively "Matnat Chinam.") AA
