Question

Concurrent with Daf Yomi, I have the following question. Is it permitted to use an umbrella on Shabbat (in an area enclosed by an eruv)? If not, what about if the unbrella was opened before Shabbat?

Umbrella should be OK on Shabbat in an Eiruv and on Yom tov. However, the people do not use it. AA
