using knives before Pesach

Question

Am I permitted to use my daily knives for something I will be eating on Pesach, without doing hagalah first? Specifically, can I slice squash and scoop them for use during the holiday?

yes-clean silverware. also silverware does not need hagalah for the holiday YA
