Question
I saw your suggestions re. how to keep kosher when you are away, but there is something I don't understand. You recommend going to the kitchen and finding a pot that hasn't been used in the last day and cooking your fish. But since we say that you can only rely on the kelal of setam kelim einam benei yomam in a bediavad (ex post facto) situation, why can you cook the fish in this pot? When you cook in this pot it is a lekhatkhilah situation, which I thought was forbidden. Please let me know what I'm missing.

Answered by Aaron AbadiIf you can point out where you saw that, I would appreciate it. In most places we added the details of how to Kasher it on the fly, by steaming a small amount of water in it while covered until it's good and steamy, & then run in under cold water. AA
