vanilla extract/tofutti cheese

1. mccormick vanilla extract contains alcohol, which the company says is ethyl alcohol that is made from synthetic petrloleum distillates and does not contain grain. does this make it good for pesach and do i need a new bottle? 2. can you tell me if tofutti imitation american cheese is good (its for my baby who is allergic to dairy products). the ingredients are: water, partially hydrogenated soy bean oil, tofu, soy protein, carrageenan, maltodextrin, vinegar(which the company told me is heinz distilled white vinegar), corn starch, calcium phosphate, potato flakes, salt, potassium phosphate, nondairy lactic acid, adipic acid, soy natural colors and potassium sorbate. thanx

Answered by Aaron Abadi1) Yes & No 2) for a child, it's fine. If it has a Rabbinic certification (for year round use), then it's OK for all Sephardim, too. AA
