vinegar

Question

from: http://www.fda.gov/ora/compliance_ref/cpg/cpgfod/cpg525-825.html it seems that malt vinegar must be so labeled, and if an ingredient is just vinager then it is not from barley but the alcoholic and acetic byproduct of appples. is the info at that website sufficient to allow all vinegar to be kosher and for passover? 2)read the bottom of that website. It is gross. is it a problem kashrut-wise if the eels are kavush for 24 hours or are they batel because they are not allowed in the finished product? thanks

1) Yes. We just confirmed this with my father this morning. If it just says "vinegar" it is kosher for all for Pesach. 2) don't worry about the eels. AA
