Warming tray on Shabbat
Question
My electric oven shuts off after 12 hours of use (a pre-"Sabbath Mode" model). I prefer cholent baked in the oven rather than in a crockpot. Can I: put the cholent in the oven before shabbat; take it from the oven in the AM (oven now off but food still hot); move it to a warming tray that has yet to go on (timer)? If so, can I (on shabbat morning before the timer goes on) add precooked things like hot dogs to the hot cholent? Thanks Stu

Answered by Aaron Abadiput the cholent in the oven before shabbat; Certainly! __________________________ take it from the oven in the AM (oven now off but food still hot); Yes ______________________________ move it to a warming tray that has yet to go on (timer)? Of Course! _________________________________ If so, can I (on shabbat morning before the timer goes on) add precooked things like hot dogs to the hot cholent? You can even put raw food onto an oven or into a crockpot that is on a timer and not on yet. (I'm a little confused on this last scenario) AA
