Water Heater in Israel

Question

I learned that if the water heater is turned under yad soledet bo then there will be no isur of cooking on shabbat... but how does this work with the Israeli 'dud-shemesh'? thanks

The same way. You may not have to turn it down if it is only from the sun. It would depend how it works. CYA
