wedding ring

Question

I was at a wedding and someone tried telling me that it is a sin for a man to wear a ring because its written in the shulchan aruch that only women can wear jewelry. I am pretty sure there is no truth to this but is it written anywhere that a ring is not permitted for men or does it say that a ring should be worn? I want to know what to tell this guy next time i see him. thanks

There is no issur for a man to wear a ring. However, to be given the ring under the Chupah would render the chupah null and void for all practical purposes. CYA
