Whiskey aged in oak casks

Excuse me if I am not asking this question politely enough, and if the question is being researched, please let me know as this is my third attempt at this question. My sin sent me an article that states that there is a controversy over the kashrus of better whiskeys that have been aged in Oak casks that have previously been used to age fine wines. The article said that there was a question of Yayin Nesech, non Jewish wine, as the whiskey is aged in these casks to enhance it's flavor. My kishkes tell me that it might be a gezeirah on a gezeirah, but while I enjoy eating Kishke, I try not to paskin with them. Do you have any comment on this position? Do I have to throw away my bottle of Johnny Walker Blue? Thanks
