why bugs today?

why do we worry about bugs today? bugs and vegetables have been around forever and we didnt hear much abouth them? were previous generations just lazy in their ignoring the whole issue? i asked one orthdox rebbetzn of the old school how long she soaked her vegetables, ad she gave me a dirty look and said that everything she serves in her house is super clean, the last thing she would serve is bugs how can one not be confused i

There used to be pesticides that were effective. They were found to be cancer-causing and discontinued. The current pesticides do not work as well. The bugs are real. I've seen them with my own eyes. Do you really not believe them, or do you not want to believe? AA
