Wigs

Okay, I am getting phone calls from ladies because it has come out in Haaretz (I think) that European Human Hair wigs (and most others) are really from India. I am simply referring everyone to this website for the truth. Really what is happening is that wig stores all over are being virtually attacked and I hear in Israel even burned. I am being told that women are actually burning 2000$ wigs (sounds like tonsure to me). The phone calls I have gotten are "now that you have convinced me to cover my hair, these Rabbis are telling me it is Avoda Zara on my head".......... People are feeling like sheital machers are part of some great big conspiracy to involve them in AVoda Zara in order to make a little money. How much damage is being done by this craziness? I know that my suppliers could be bankrupt over night. We are talking about the parnassa of Jewish families. Aside from the personal losses of families who are choosing to destroy their wigs at the advice of their Rabbis, there are wig stores with inventories and manufacturers that have lost. Also today with the high cost of European wigs, most are paid off for months. The women who are destroying their wigs will not be paying for them. So after countless businesses and thousands of people suffer, many otherwise observant women uncover their hair in disgust and A Chillul Hashem is made to the world to the extent that it shows up in the NY Times and Hindu magazines in India what will be???
