yayin mevushal
Question
Dear Rabbi: I thought I understood the following issue but I guess I don't so can you clarify please. What is the whole idea behind "yayin mevushal"--I know it means boiled--but why must it be done and why should it change anything? What halacha does boiling the wine comply with that regular wine does not?
Answer
Answered by Aaron AbadiCooked wine is not part of the Gezera (Rabbinical Rule), because the Gezera was made since they would use the wine for idol worship. They would not use cooked wine for that, so it was never included into the rule. AA
