Yeast

Question

This year I saw something on the list that I have never seen before---Yeast. Is this a mistake or is the law only that we are not allowed to let the yeast rise and not that there is a prohibition on the yeast itself? I guess that we all assumed that since bread is prohibitted that is was the yeast that was the problem since we do use matza. Please explain. Thanks for all.SL
