Yom Tov & Stove
Question
I know that you've stated that one may turn off the oven on Yom Tov, and even light it under certain circumstances. Could you please be specific: does that apply to the stove top and/or oven? Do electronic control pads make a difference? Also, could you please list the (presumably Shulchan Aruch) seif on which this is based? Is this discussed in the Or Yitzchak? (I couldn't find it there). Thanks again for all your work.
Answer
Answered by Aaron AbadiTurn it high and low as needed, both gas & electric. They can both be turned off completely, also. Both the oven & the stovetop. Don't use the electric ignition, just pass it quickly. Electronic controls are fine for Yom Tov. AA
