7-11slurpee

Question

For some reason ,in Toronto, Canada the Rabbis of the city have only permitted us to drink coke and sprite-flavoured slurpees while in other parts of America such as new York it seems that every flavour is kosher. I know that slurpees TASTE a little different in New York than they do in Toronto but does that mean that they are neccessarily not kosher here? Don't all 7-11s use the same ingredients for their slurpees?
