aid to tsunami victims update

Question

I must admit I was very pleasantly surprised...my daughter's Orthodox Zionist school has decided that instead of sending Bat Mitzvah project money to our sworn enemies in Indonesia, it will instead go to victims of terror in Israel. I was again appalled when I saw a recent picture of 80 tons or so of aid from Israel to Indonesia for tsunami victims. Perhaps Jews should have donated for the poor starving Germans in Berlin after WWII? If, G-d forbid, a natural disaster were to befall Israel, every Muslim in the world would say it is divine providence (see Ilan Ramon) and would be dancing in the streets. We Jews with our grossly misplaced sympaties, think we need to give aid and comfort to our enemies. It is that liberal Tikkun Olam thing where people mistake leftist politics and thought with Judaism.

"Perhaps Jews should have donated for the poor starving Germans in Berlin after WWII" Good point! I'm sure many of us would have done that. Amen to your speech! At least somebody is following the program. AA
