CYA answered the following to hadar's question: Assur - because the reason of Bishul Akum is to avoid marriage to a goy. The sources are Gemarah, Rishonim, Tur, Shulchan Aruch, Achronim and all the Mepharshim. CYA However, the real answer is that "Bishshul Akum" is not the correct term, but changed in the texts by the censors. The correct term is "Bishshul Nokhri", as found in the good manuscripts. This term includes all non-Jews, even fellow monotheists. In fact, Hadar would have had a good point, otherwise. It helps to know the proper girsa'oth when studying Talmud, doesn't it? Daniel
