Can you violate a de-rabbanan to help an animal which is suffering on Shabbat?

Tzaar Balei Chaim is Ok in many cases, but not all cases. Orach Chaim Siman 305 Seif 20 says you can have a Non-Jew milk an animal for this reason, and in the same place, the Mishna Berura allows you to feed the ducks on Shabbat. & In #324 #332 and other places, there are situations that are prohibited, so it is no so clear cut.
