Army and non-Religious
Question
I daven at a shul where the rav is a Lakewood musmach, and most of the members send their children to Charedi yeshivot. The rav never refers to the non-religious Israelis as evil people, simply misguided people. And every Israeli, no matter what there observance, who is killed is a kadosh, just like in the Shoah. The rav has said many times that while we have our disagreements we are all brothers and kol yisrael arevim ze la-zeh. He said even the Satmar rebbe z"l used to cry for the secularists who were killed by the Arabs. Just last Shabbat the rav quoted the Netziv that when we face the enemy, all Jews face him together and we make no distinctions between us when dealing with the enemy. Using your logic, we shouldn't even save a non-religious Jew on Shabbat,and probably shouldn't even save his life during the week, because if he is not a tinok she-nishbeh, than he is hayyav mittah for his averot.

I don't apologize for taking the opinion of the Shulchan Aruch & pretty much all our Poskim, which is sourced in the Gemara. I will be deleting any further postings on this issue, other than apologies for previous stupidity. Look at the Shulchan Aruch Yoreh Deah #345 Seif #5 & then if plan to throw out your Shulchan Aruch, I'll hope you will donate it to the nearest Shul. Everyone has spent years of their lives developing opinions, clearly not based on Shulchan Aruch. Then we look for a Rabbi to validate our opinion. The correct process is to look to Shulchan Aruch to develop the opinion to begin with. Try transalating the Pasuk, "Ashrei Sheyochez Venipetz Et Olalayich El Haselaa." It is found in Tehilim in "Al Naharot Bavel." We sing the first part of this. Try singing the Pasuk at the end. Would you like us to change that too? Not every section of our Torah fits into today's modern liberal views. Either change the Torah, or change your views. It's your decision. Make up your mind. AA
