Artscroll

Question

While looking through my Artscroll gemara, I saw that they have written on the first page "No part of this book be reproduced in any form, photocopy, electronic media, or ohterwise, even for personal,study group or classroom use..." Does this have any basis in Halacha? Wuld it be Assur to do these things, or is this alachikly binding? It eems that this ties in with your previous discussion on MP3's, and i know "theres nothing on it in the choshen mishpat," but are there any halachik authorities today, such as your father, who might have written something on this?
