Ben Ish Hai,bike Shabbat
Question
I heard the Ben ish Hai allowed bike riding on Shabbat but then recanted it. My friend said he would not recant such a major issue. Please explain what is going on. I know you have answered the question that you cannot bike ride on Shabbat but it seems many are relying on what I explained. Thank you

Answered by Aaron AbadiWhen people want to do something, they'll rely on whatever they hear. If a qualified Posek (Rabbi who is capable of deciding Jewish Laws) allows it, then his community and followers can do it. If not, we can't just do things because we find it in a Jewish book. Every other law has an argument or two. Can we just pick on each law whom to follow?! AA
