Berachot follow-up

Question

Dear Rabbi, The reason I was curious about the language of the berachot was because I know that many grammatically oriented people, such as the authors of the siddur Ish Matzliach, say HagAfen based on principles of dikduk. Similarly, I know that the exact pronounciation of the beracha of shehakol is a machloket acharonim, with most acharonim holding that NihiyEh is correct! I wanted to know if your father followed the sephardic minhag or had his own shittah on this issue. Thank you for your time.

The so-called principles of Dikduk, today, are often homemade. This is a perfect example. The principles of Dikduk would say "Hagafen," but only in a Pasuk, not in a Berachah or in a conversation or something.... AA
