Bishul Akum

Question

1. Is a hard-boiled egg bishul akum? 2. In your answer to the question about the non-Jewish Indian vegetarian restaurants you said there might be a problem with bishul akum for Sephardim. Why only for Sephardim?

1) Yes. 2) Ashkenazim can rely on a Jew lighting the fire. Sephardim need more than that. They need to put the food itself onto the fire or assist in the cooking. (in most situations) AA
