Question
for thousands of years the bnei yisrael ate produce without ddt and other chemicals that were found to be cancerous. Are you saying that they sat over a sink and spent half an hour cleaning lettuce for bugs. How come there's nothing in the shulchan aruch that deals with cleaning bugs? You say brocoli can never be bug-free, except for certain brands. Do you know wat they afre even doing that's different than other brands? Besides, you really think that the Jews never ate broccolli until they learned how to eliminate the bugs. Stop inventing new things!!! you are no better than the OU.

Answered by Chaim Yisrael AbadiI'm not sure what your point is. Are you saying there are no bugs and we invented the bug story. Or, are you saying that the are there but bugs are muttar. "How come there's nothing in the shulchan aruch that deals with cleaning bugs?" it sounds like you learned all of Shulchan Aruch. Well, Siman 84 in Shulchan Aruch, is called Hilchos Tolaim. Check it out. It may enlighten you. I don't know how old you are, but how do you know what and how they ate thousands of years ago. Lastly, if you want to make a point, that we are inventing Issurim, you may, but don't be insulting by comparing us to the OU. CYA
