Burrito

Question

Rabbi, One of the ingredients in the burrito was "triglycerides". Isn't that animal fat?

Good point - allow me to clarify this issue. This is relevant to many of the different ingredients that are in products for reasons other than taste. (perservatives, emulsifiers, softeners, items that prevent caking, propellant etc) It is a very minute chance that it is from animal fat. It is normally made from other products, vegetable, beans, synthetic etc. The Halacha remains that even if it is animal fat, it is not edible at any time. Therefore it is Mutar. Like we see in Gelatin. (you wouldn't even need shishim for this) CYA
