carrying on shabbos

Question

1)wat size does something have to be in order to be considered an object that you cannot carry on shabbos? For example, does lint from your suit count? Also, does it need a certain "chashivus," so that lint would not count, but a keychain the same size would count? 2) Is one alllowed to carry something out onto his patio, if it is covered by an awning that is attached to the house?

1) Something that you keep, that you care for. 2) It's hard to answer when it isn't in front of you, but there is a rule, Pi Tikrah Yored Vesotem, the roof acts as a wall. AA
