Chafing dish
Question
I was at an affair and there was kosher food brought in specially (the rest were eating non-kosher). The tray of kosher food we put in a non-kosher chafing tray. That is, the tray of kosher food was put in the big metal tray that has hot water in it and the bunson burner underneath. Is this OK? (No food is ever in the big metal tray, but since occasionally a piece of non-kosher might fall into it and be absorbed, I thought that it might be an issue if the taste can pass through the wall of the kosher tray?)
