Chatziza and Opening Packages

Question

Dear Rabbi, Is nail polish ever a chatzizah vis a vis mikvah? Is it permitted to open milk cartons on Shabbat, even though a spout is formed thereby? What about opening non-food-related packages? If there is a difference between food and non-food opening, could you explain the reason why?

1) Not if it is on nicely, not chipped and such. 2) Yes 3) No, because the concept is that you are not tearing the wrapper to use that wrapper but rather to get the stuff inside. AA
