Cheese

Question

If bishul akum doesn't apply when dealing with companies, why should genevat akum apply? Also, what is the definition of cheese? I. e., how do we know cream cheese falls into the category. Perhaps the gezerah is only referring to hard cheese? Do you think cottage cheese also falls under genevat akum? Thank you.

All cheese is cheese. The Gevinat Akum Law is a Gezera, a Rabbanical decree. It stays forever. Challav Akum is only a Chashash; we are afraid that the milk may contain some percentage of non-kosher milk. If we can determine that this is not the case, it is fine. Aaron
