chocolate etc

Question

1. i looked through the twenty lines of the locallly manufactured chocolate boxes, and the only ingeredient i had a doubt about is invert or invertase. is that kosher. 2. at yeshiva after agonizing over some sugya for ages in bava kamma, i asked the rebbe how we pasken (in yiddish of course) he went . ballistic, when he said he couldnt learn hilchos peisach before the chag, because he went from the shulchan aruch into the gemara, i told him politely he needed more discipline . sephardim tend to be much more sensible about learning for living according to halachah. 3. I never have problems telling gentiles that i cannot do this or that because it is against the jewish relgion. actually, the more relgious christian they are the less trouble i have. i told the store people on a sunday that iwas entitled to the saturday only sale price because i dont shop on saturday, and they gave it to me. IT IS ONE OF THE LIES OF MODERN JEWISH LIFE, THAT SECULAR JEWS BELIEVE THAT GOYIM PREFER JEWS NOT TO BE RELIGIOUS. BUT IT ISNT TRUE. ASSUMING YOU DONT LOOK MESHUGA (A TOPIC IN ITS OWN RIGHT, ) THERE IS NO PROBLEM EXPLAINING KOSHER AND SHABES. AS ONE GALECH EVEN SAID TO ME, WE DONT MIND YOUR KEEPING KOSHER AND EATING RAW LETTUCE ETC, WE MIND IF YOU SIMPLY TO SIT DOWN AND EAT WITH US. OF COURSE THERE ARE ANTI SEMITES AROUND, BUT IN THIS COUNTRY NOT THAT MANY, AND EVEN IN ANTISEMITIC COUNTRIES THEY HATE ALL JEWS EQUALLY

1) Invertase is a yeast derived enzyme. Invertase splits sucrose into glucose and fructose (invert syrup) and can be applied for any inversion of sucrose especially liquefied cherry centers, creams, mints, truffles, marshmallow, invert syrup and other fondants. Invertase is used to improve shelf life of confections. (compliments of Yahooooo) 2) But we are becoming like them. They're cloning us. I just went to a Syrian Bar Mitzvah, and I thought I was in Budapest. Then the band started to play "Ooveenee Malkaini...." 3) True. That was one of the lessons we learned in the Holocaust; people were so embedded into the culture, yet they were all Jews, and were all found. AA
