chol hamoed

Question

we have bought a home and just received the keys. there is some things that need to be done before i can move in, these include: painting of the rooms, etc. some walls/ceilings need to be spakled first, replace carpeting sand/stain floors and then move in. we are in need to start as soon as possible and hope to begin this week 1) can this continue / be done over Hol Hamoed? 2) can this be done after pesah during the omer?
