Rabbi, i have a couple of questions: 1)In the syrian communities around the world they wont marry converts. They did this to preserve our jewish identity, stop intermarriage +most conversions today arent for the religion, they are for love to a human being. Is this a valid takana? 2)If someone turns lights on shabat, are they sonsidered mechalel shabat? 3)If someone's father left their mother when they were still very young and went with a goya, is this person supposed to sit shiva'a for his father? Say kaddish for him? 4) Is there any problem with working on tisha'a beab?

1) No, but in cases where the conversion is not proper, it is correct to refuse it. 2) If they know it is not OK, & they still do it, Yes. 3) just keep away, unless you can easily get them back (which is highly unlikely). 4) Depends what & why. AA
